Fictional Boyfriends Tag!

This was super fun to do and I’d like to thank She Blogs, She Reads for tagging me in the first place! She has a lovely book blog and updates it quite regularly on all things books! If you’re a book lover, her blog should be part of your life. Go check it out, peeps!

It took me quite awhile to make this post because, as you know, there are so many amazing fictional men to choose from (and college has just started up for me)… 🙂

1. The Most Romantic Boyfriend: David (Uglies)

This was actually the hardest one of all ten for me. I couldn’t think of a romantic man for the life of me! I decided on David because he’s such a sweetheart. He sees through Tally’s “ugliness” to the beauty underneath when most guys would only see her outer appearance. I was so disappointed when he didn’t appear in any of the other books… but, Zane isn’t too shabby, either. 😉

2. The Dark and Moody Bad Boy with a Good Side: Gavriel (The Coldest Girl in Coldtown)

I told myself I wouldn’t put a vampire on this list, but, alas, it was meant to happen. Gavriel is such a contradiction and I love him for it. Most of the book I was wondering which side he was on and if I should be rooting for him. If Gavriel was a real person, we’d be buds for sure. I think his undead sass would complement my very, very alive sass.

3. The Paranormal Boyfriend: Ash (The Iron Fey series)

Ash is probably the first fictional guy that I truly admired and loved. He’s sweet, considerate, and a bit mysterious. He doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve, but is fiercely protective and loyal to those he loves. Oh, and did I mention that he’s fully faerie? Nope? Well, there ya go. Boyfriend material right there.

4. The Boyfriend You Want to Tame: Landon Carter (A Walk to Remember)

This is kind of a no duh, but Landon Carter. Landon flippin’ flapjacks Carter. I actually liked him way more in the movie than in the book (Shane West ftw). He’s a bad boy that hangs with a bad crowd, but he definitely has a good side. ❤

5. The Boy You Friend-Zoned: Levin (Anna Karenina)

If you were friends with me while I was reading Anna Karenina, chances are you heard me muttering about my love for Levin. Dumped by the love of his life, struggling with a failing business, contemplating suicide… Man. Levin’s life sucks throughout the first half of the book. My heart just went out to him. I don’t know if I’d ever date him, but I’d definitely give him a big bear hug. He’s such a sweetheart with a big heart and he doesn’t deserve such bad luck.

6. Your Soulmate: Catcher (The Forest of Hands and Teeth trilogy- Books 2&3)

No one will ever replace Catcher in my book-loving heart. He’s such a tortured soul which is probably why I’m drawn to him. He’s extremely sweet, courageous, and, oh yeah, cursed with being half-mudo (half-zombie). It’s unfortunate, but he makes the best of his situation and is protective of those close to him.

7. The Boyfriend You Would Elope with: Daemon (Lux series)

My parents wouldn’t approve of this man. He’s an alien, a big flirt, and he has special powers. But, hey, he’s sweet and attractive, too. Eloping would be the only way I’d get away with Daemon. My dad would definitely pull out a shotgun (not that it would even hurt Daemon ’cause he’s an alien and all).

8. The Boyfriend You Would Venture Anywhere with: Jared Howe (The Host)

Jared Howe would be so much fun to travel with! Not only did he survive the whole alien-occupation and is a total courageous survivor, but he’s also loyal and kind. He’d be the perfect companion!

9. The Boyfriend You Want to be Stranded on a Deserted Island with: Valek (Poison Study)

I just finished Poison Study… Not only is Valek extremely intelligent, but he’s also kind and protective. If we were deserted on a strange island, I’m sure he’d know which plants are edible and how to set up everything we’d need to survive. Plus, like I said before, he’s pretty smart. We’d have some great conversations by the light of the moon. And, he’s great with weapons. And he’s not too bad to look at either. All together, not bad, hey? 😉

10. The Most BA Boyfriend: Rhett Butler (Gone with the Wind)

Rhett Butler is a selfish prick, but I love him. A lot. He’s pretty swoon-worthy. No one can touch his pickup lines (um, hello… “You should be kissed, and often, and by someone who knows how”) and his boom-bam-ouch slams (hahaha “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”). I honestly don’t know what else to say. He is legit.

I would like to tag:

YOU! So cheesy, but make sure to pingback or link back in the comments if you do it! 🙂

If any of my choices would be in your list, I want to hear about it. Let’s talk fictional men! ❤

    1. Aw, thank you! You have no idea how long this took me… it was a struggle, but I loved it. A WALK TO REMEMBER makes me CRY every single time I watch it, but it’s so great.
Absolutely–they’re all true! 🙂 Thanks for nominating me chica!

  1. I haven’t read like any of those books (but I will definitely look into some of them now), but I would definitely agree 100% with you in regards to Landon Carter! I had seen the movie before I read the book which is probably why I didn’t mind him so much in the book, because I was picture Shane West, but he was definitely more likeable and more attractive in the movie! Great list! 🙂

    1. You should definitely check some of them out! 🙂 I read the book first, too, and I think that’s one of the reasons I liked movie-Landon better than book-Landon. Shane West is great. Thanks for stopping by, Lauren! 🙂
